Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS has stepped up in a critical moment, announcing a remarkable $1.5 million in emergency grants aimed at supporting food service organizations nationwide. This initiative is particularly crucial given the uncertainty regarding November's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, which has created heightened anxieties among food assistance recipients. This emergency assistance will be distributed among 148 food pantries, meal delivery services, and congregate meal programs that form part of Broadway Cares' National Grants Program.
