Celebrated Broadway star Marcus Nance leads transformative vocal techniques session for London choir

The Voices of Broadway hosts workshop with Dora Award-winner Marcus Nance, marking a standout event for London’s vibrant performing arts community. On October 18, 2025, the Voices of Broadway, a non-professional ensemble, welcomed their members to Wesley-Knox United Church for a transformative, four-hour vocal techniques workshop conducted by the acclaimed Stratford and Broadway talent, Marcus Nance providing unique access to star-powered expertise and artistic growth.
Hailed as “thrillingly powerful” by The New York Times and “a major talent” by The Toronto Star, Marcus Nance is not only a 2025 and 2024 Dora Award winner but also a 2025 Toronto Critics’ Award recipient. Known for his versatility in opera, musical theatre, film, and cabaret, Nance brought a masterclass approach to the session, drawing on his extensive international experience—including his renowned portrayal of Caiaphas in Jesus Christ Superstar on Broadway and Stratford stages.
The Voices of Broadway hosts a workshop for Voices of Broadway members each year, but participants unanimously agreed that this year’s iteration set a new benchmark. Nance’s curriculum emphasized advanced breathing, vocal stamina, and interpretative singing, all delivered with the motivational force that has made him My Entertainment World’s 2023 Critics’ Pick Performer of the Year.
