Middlesex County’s summer tradition, Plays-in-the-Park, returns in 2026 with a vibrant lineup of three fabulous Broadway musicals: All Shook Up, 1776, and Guys and Dolls. These performances will take place from June through August at the scenic Stephen J. Capestro Theatre located in Roosevelt Park, Edison.
Musicals That Celebrate Community and Culture
This year's selection showcases classic stories that resonate with audiences of all ages. All Shook Up runs from June 17 to June 27, inspired by Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night and featuring a lively soundtrack of Elvis Presley hits, including “Heartbreak Hotel” and “Jailhouse Rock.” This musical encapsulates the joy of love, music, and community.
From July 8 to July 18, see 1776, which transports audiences to the pivotal summer when America’s founding fathers debated independence from British rule. This engaging performance brings history to life, highlighting figures like John Adams and Thomas Jefferson as they strive for a united front.
Finally, from July 29 to August 8, enjoy Guys and Dolls, an amusing narrative that revolves around gamblers and their romantic escapades in a whimsical depiction of New York City. The characters’ interwoven lives and misadventures form a tapestry of humor and heartfelt moments.
